Being a chain smoker for most of my early adult life i have lost friends and relatives from lung cancer as a result from smoking. I thought experiencing devastating losses that i would get a wake up call to finally quit i was mistaken.
This is how powerful addictions are, you know the horrible consequences but we still continue to engage in them. Why is it so hard to quit bad habits? It’s because our subconscious minds have turned them into a habit.
Any behavior that we repeat for a long period of time turns into a habit. Once a habit is formed, it would feel impossible to stop that habit once it’s gotten momentum.
The type of momentum your habits once formed carry you is like trying to stop a speeding train by placing cardboard boxes in the middle of the tracks. Your subconscious mind is making your life and survival easier by making actions automatic.
This would make sense 1000’s of years ago when we were living in caves hunting our own food at peak performance but in today’s world our we have a lot of distractions and bad vices that we consume on the daily.
Our subconscious mind doesn’t care if what we feed it is good or bad for us. It carries out it’s purpose of making the actions automatic regardless. Here’s the problem it’s very easy to learn a new habit if you’ve never experienced the opposite effect before.
For example if you’ve always been obese your entire life, trying to start going to the gym and sticking to it will be impossible, since you’ve never been in good shape your mind will be full of doubts. How can you believe you can achieve something if you’ve always struggled to get it?
No amount of positive affirmations will change your habits. There is a big misconception in the self help community that preaches positive affirmations and positive thinking. Positive self talk alone will not get you to where you want to be.
The only thing it will do is give you a temporary motivational boost but you will crash and burn before you see any real changes. Each time you want to decide to quit smoking you would go maybe a week without one puff..but the cravings hit you hard and you’re back to smoking and feeling very disappointed with yourself.
So what is the secret to quitting smoking and any other bad habit that you may have? well you need to trick your subconscious mind that it’s “easy” to quit smoking. If your subconscious mind is able to believe that quitting smoking is easy all your withdrawal symptons will come to a halt.
Your subconscious mind controls all your bodily functions. The need to smoke will stop for good, but the problem is in order to get your subconscious to believe that it’s easy to quit smoking then you need to believe it consciously but that’s not the case since you’ve tried multiple times before.
So how do you get to convince your subconscious mind to accept this new belief?
There’s a ‘wall of belief’ that lies between your conscious mind and subconscious mind, if you truly believe that you can accomplish something then this ‘wall’ lowers down and your new positive affirmation gets accepted by your subconscious mind and it carries out that new belief.
There’s a certain ‘sound’ or frequency that lowers this wall of belief and will allow you to implant any message into your subconscious mind without any doubt.
I showed my older brother who was a chain smoker for more than 30 years this method and he was shocked at how easy it was for him to finally be able to quit smoking. He didn’t suffer from any withdrawals at all , in fact his subconscious mind now hated the idea of smoking.
It was incredible to see him finally give up this destructive habit. If you want to know how to bypass the wall of disbelief and trick your subconscious mind into quitting smoking Click here to find out how
